Barack Obama vs. John McCain
Nobody in the news media made mention of Barack’s social view. In his victory speech, he said we are going to force oil companies to invest their profits the way he wants it invested. This is the second democrat in the last two weeks that spurred socialistic nationalization of private business. You start with the oil companies, where do you end? Government already restricts business on every angle with rules and regulations. I don’t understand why it is so hard for Republicans to make their points. Therefore I’m going to try.
1) We are in a war in a foreign country fighting radical Islam so we don’t have to fight them on our ground. The reason it works in Iraq is that for so many years Iraq was their golden goose. President Bush said shortly after 9/11 that we are going after their sponsors. It was the right decision whether they had weapons of mass destruction or not. Every radical flocked there to defend their golden goose. That is why the resistance escalated and we have to see it through to be sure that the people of Iraq get the feeling of participating in a capitalistic system and they get the benefit of their economic strength in the world, and not the terror groups as in the past.
2) We can be environmentally conscience and change the rules and regulations of exploring our own natural resources, building nuclear facilities, and using coal power, and allowing companies to build refineries wherever the natural resources are and where the gas and diesel fuel is needed.
3) Healthcare is the main desire of everyone that is sick. While you are well, it is not a concern. I believe our healthcare system is the best in the world and the quality of services is more transparent than anybody ever expected. And it’s choice of provider should be the patients in a full free market system. Lawsuits and medical liability create an exponential increase in medical care costs. And it is time for every patient to take responsibility for his/her health and his/her choice of provider and not hold liable the whole medical system. In 95% of the cases, there is no need to run a full battery of expensive procedures if the doctor is not concerned about getting sued. One of the facts of life is that everyone will not live to be 100 years old and some of us don’t want to be blessed with quantity of life and no quality. All people will die and we all hope to die at a ripe age. But to burden a whole system with insurance premiums and rules and regulations that makes it impossible to afford basic proven healthcare. It is a proven fact that people with unlimited healthcare abuse their medical privileges because they don’t have to pay for it. It is a proven fact that a lot of illness and expensive care can be prevented by preventative screenings. And that a very small portion of the population takes advantage of preventative screenings. So should something be done? Yes, government restrictions and frivolous lawsuits should be eliminated and individuals should take responsibility for their own health and their own choices of providers.
4) The Economy. We are in a global economy and we have to be competitive globally. But if you tie our hands and our arms behind our backs with rules and regulations and mandates we can never be competitive. The government just has to get out of the way and let the American people use their initiative and hard work and be competitive again. Clean air and clean water is a privilege and right that we always had and that we should protect. But some of the state’s rules and regulations go far beyond what we’ve been used to in the last 100 years. We should strive to always improve, but the regulations of replacing functional infrastructure and systems are ludicrous and not affordable. Set us free and you will see an America you’ve never seen. Bigger, better, cleaner living, longer lives, and taking care of those that can’t take care of themselves. Big government has not helped anyone, just hampered us.
